Yellow Light = Floor It!

What a fun morning yesterday was. I was on my way to the train station to go to the city to hand in yet another form for my uni courses next year. When all of a sudden…. ‘BANG’ my car had been hit. Don’t worry no one was hurt, except my car and the other women’s car.

“So what happened?” You may ask. Well I’ll tell you… Just relax..! I was traveling along Lower Dandenong Road at around 57Km/h in a 60 zone, in the right hand lane. I was getting closer and closer to an intersection, I look into my rear view mirror and see a car travailing fast out of the left hand lane and think nothing of it cause they won’t be able to get around me anyway because i can’t change lanes as there was a truck next to me. So I look strait ahead again and see that the light has changed to yellow. There was plenty of time for me to stop, so I did. I comfortably make a complete stop in-front of the white line and… “BANG”. ‘Fast traveling, purple car’ runs into the back of me. My first thought was, “oh god please just be a tiny scratch”, but it wasn’t, my rear bumper was shattered and on further inspection the body of the car slightly crumpled. her car however was completely stuffed. When she got out of her car she said “i can’t believe you stopped.” I felt like saying “i can’t believe you hit me!”, but i didn’t want to aggravate the situation. After looking at the damage on each of our cars we swapped information and now I’m trying to contact her because i can’t file the claim with RACV properly until she files one.

There is an estimated damage bill of $1700 to my car, which is more than the car it worth, but this may help in convincing my parents that I need a new car.

The End…?

Building 94

It has been four days into the holidays and I have done some serious thinking about starting my study for the exams in November. I will actually be doing some english tomorrow but its so hard to get started when there is so much happening outside. Today I headed to the city to hand in some forms to RMIT for my subject choices next year. I had to go to building 94 which took me ages to find. I went to the information center and the gave me the address but didn’t tell me where it actually was, so I went to one of those Melbourne information centers and found out the building was like two streets away from where I was originally. So off to the creative media building (AKA building 94) I went , handed my forms to the women who looked like she was 12 years old and who was also under her desk on the phone for some reason. Once that was over, off I went back to Melbourne Central for lunch and the fun train ride home.

In money and wish i had more of it related topics, me and my Dad have been looking at a new, secondhand car for me as mine can’t be trusted to get you to where you want to go… alive! We’ve been looking at a Holden station wagon. (Very fancy). I want a car with allot of space in the back for anything that i might need to put in there and in the event that I do crash i want it to be cheaper to fix instead of just buying a new car.

Anyway I have to go to the city again on Friday to hand in another form to the VCA and I am also going to see a movie with some mates.

English Practice

Today I had my practice exam for english and I think I did really well, except for the part 2 question. I wrote on Inheritance and Citizen Kane. My essay on Kane was pretty good, however my Inheritance essay was pretty crap. I blabbed on about something and i don’t think i actually answered the question properly. From the sound of what people were saying afterwards there were others who didn’t do well over all because they couldn’t remember any of the characters names in any of the books they studied and the person sitting next to me finished in less than an hour with half a page for each section.

Earlier today was good, sort of. I had two classes and then triple spare after recess. There was also morning tea supplied by the school for those involved in Fame. It was nice to see Dwyer there and he also gave a thank-you speech to those involved in Dr. Pargetter’s memorial service.

I didn’t feel like doing much after recess today so I helped Jimmy pack the morning tea up then spent the rest of the time wandering around aimlessly. Matt said I was being too grumpy, but i just didn’t feel like throwing a water bottle around and listening to another Freudian style conversation.

Tonight I had another show to do for the school. Tonight’s one was the VCE dance trial performances. As usual i was on sound, with James L on lights and Liam filming it. I have yet another show this weekend doing sound for a dance performance an I have my sociology trial exam tomorrow. Wish me luck!

‘It’ Is On It’s Way

If your wondering what’s on its way then wonder no more… It’s Graduation. Today was the last properly structured school day for me and the rest of year 12 for ever. There are still other days of classes but not in the same way as todays ones. Todays ones followed the time table that I have had for the whole year, term 4’s classes and tomorrow’s time table are different to maximize revision time before the final exams. Graduation is just over a month away and i don’t know yet if I’m looking forward to it. I can’t wait till i graduate and never have to go to class’s for a long time but i don’t really want to leave school. It’s a difficult conundrum.

Speaking of exams, tomorrow afternoon I have my English practice exam. I’m hoping that i will do well, I don’t want to get in there and read the question and have no clue what they are talking about, especially with the part 2 essays. I hate those things. I also have practice exams in my other subjects over the next week. Sociology is going surprisingly well. I just got a SAC back on globalisation and got a 46/50 which was a surprise, i thought i was doing badly in that subject. Although that is only one section of the curriculum. Maths is a grey area… I am sick of the subject but the stuff in it is easy and there is no real reason why i couldn’t do well. Although i have noticed in my past few tests that, when I actually try and think about every answer i do worse than the tests where i would select the answer that looked closest to what was on my calculator. Theatre studies should be OK. In class today we went through the sample exam from VCAA and found that the section on stagecraft and the section on the two plays the we studied should be good. However there is still the first section, the one on acting. I can bluff my way through that section but it’s going to take allot of thought about what to actually write. Today i also had to hand in my final Theatre SAC. The quality of the work was terrible. I lost the criteria sheet ages ago and i didn’t actually understand what type of documentation i was supposed to put in the folio. As long as i get my ‘S’ for the subject then i have had some sort of success. Also yesterday was my practice solo. The Monologue is a really good one from ‘A journal of the Plague Year’. The performance was good from my point of view but Belly want “more”. So there is allot of work to do for my monologue.

While on a similar topic to exams. It was a busy day for me at school today with two events needing to be set up at once. In the hall was Haileybury’s version of “Thank God Your Here” and in Gym 1 & 2 there needed to be 900 or more exam tables set up. To make life easier for me ‘DJ OhNo’ (or what ever) set up the sound for TGYH while I was free to help Jimmy with the tables in the Gym. Now on the topic of TGYH i need to have a bitch about the organisation of school events run by students. They always manage to leave it till the last minute to tell us that they need 4 radio mics. They never give enough warning about what they need and they don’t understand the word “no”. The school doesn’t even have 4 radio mics. There is one that they can have at a moments notice and there are two that aren’t aloud to be used as they belong to the principles unit. They eventual ended up with all 3 somehow but i would have thought they would have learned their lesson the last time they asked for more than 1 radio mic.

Anyway enough of that. The exam tables was a massive job to get all of it done but thankfully there was the rest of the maintenance crew and Laura and James L to help. It took about 2 hours to get both gyms done and as usual Jimmy was thankful for the help and gave us our pay of food and drink. Once they were all setup i went to the music studio to grab the microphone and speaker, and when i got back i found that we had to turn every single desk in Gym 1 around 90 degrease because of a lack of communication. So i wasn’t in a particularly good mood this afternoon. After lunch i headed off to my last 2 classes which were uneventful. Matt and I had a conversation about who we reckoned would be the Valedictorians. We came to the conclusion that we didn’t have any clue who it would end up being.

While making my way home I made my traditional stop via the Hall, just to see what was happening and as usual there was nothing however i was annoyed to see the mess that was left at the sound desk. There was more food wrappers then what I am happy to see there and heaps of cables and equipment sitting there that should have been removed after TGYH. So i spent about 30 minuets cleaning it up before i went home and re-patching the desk after the mess that was made of it. For those people wonder why I don’t trust anyone using the equipment, its because they always leave it in a mess that I have to clean up.

Anyway, I’m off to watch ‘Summer Highest High’, Its probably the funniest show on ‘Free’ TV at the moment.
See you, Bye

So Much Cake

It’s been ages since I last posted anything and that is simply because so much has been happening lately. Last week I finally completed my last SAC for English, Maths and Sociology. School has been full on over the past month because of SAC’s and practice exams next week also there is approximately four school weeks until graduation and speech nights. My car is once again alive and there are no signs of it dying again anytime soon but i still don’t trust it. I Have also put in my preferences for Uni and TAFE for next year. There was allot of Drama when I was trying to do it, i don’t think my parents like the idea of me putting a TAFE as my first preference.

Also last night I was at Berwick for the middle school battle of the bands to do some sound with Ash. I hate jr. school events. There is always a demanding teacher there who doesn’t understand anything and they always run overtime. The actual show was boring how ever we did load almost everything into my car at the end of the night… You can fit quite allot in the boot of my car.

And today was Dr. Pargetter memorial service. It took about 2 weeks to get it all set up and had a massive budget. There was an audio and video feed to the chapel and an audio feed to the quad and gym. There was about 200m of cable running through the trees. There was also allot of effort made making sure every little detail was perfect. The cleaners were even washing the walls and washing the sides of the chairs in the hall. Unfortunately the school overestimated the amount of people coming and the chapel wasn’t even used and everyone was able to fit into the hall. Belly however was stressing out. He was getting Monkey to give me the lighting cues even though i had already done it. After the actual event I unloaded all the equipment from Berwick and hung around to pack up anything else that needed to be done. After packing up we went to grab any food that was left over from the official party’s lunch… there was allot of cake and drink… so much that people were taking plates home with them.
