The past few days has been very busy at school. There have been music performances, major assemblies, the dreaded sports presentation night and the year 12 formal.
Tuesday night was one of the music department’s major events. Concerto Night. The music was performed very well but I honestly wasn’t listing that much as I was sitting with Dale and talking to him he entire time, a bit to loud too as the person three rows away turned and gave us an evil look.
Wednesday I found out that the final assembly for term one was going to have a band playing so I decided that they should have some goodish lighting. I stayed back late after school to get it ready for Thursday morning as there was no other time for me to do it. All I did was have par-cans as back light with yellow, blue, green and red gels but they were happy to have it.
Also on Thursday was Dancing with the staff. The prefects organized this event in a rather inconvenient way. I had different people asking me about lighting for it and I told them all that they couldn’t have anything fancy as the Sports Presentation night was that evening but that obviously wasn’t understood so the work I did for the band during assembly was going to be useful again. BUT… The middle curtain was closed and having the lights behind that curtain doesn’t work well. Also I was told about a DVD that they wanted to play during the event, the day of the event, even though they had known they wanted to use the DVD for a while they never found time to tell me during all the times I was asked about lights. Over all it was a good show with teachers looking stupid.
Now to Sports Presentation Night. It was, as always, the most boring event that anyone could ever go to. However the music that was used for the precessional was rather funny as it was very dramatic banging and then it does that fanfare that the news used to use (I forget the name of the song).
And finally the Year 12 formal. It was a good night and everyone had fun (well almost everyone). The best part of the evening was the limo. Thanks must go to Liam for organizing it. It was fantastic.
