I have just changed the address for this blog to in lime light (www.inlimelight.blogspot.com) because my first one wasn’t the address I originally wanted and it sounded lame and I think this one is a much better improvement because in the old days they used to burn lime to use as lights in theatre

Look What I Got!
Today was a good day because I had double English where all we did was watch part of Citizen Kane, and then I had 3 spares and lunch, then a session of math. At the end of the day I was helping Berry move boxes to his new office and while in his old one I found the old D2 sign that fell off the door and has now been replaced with the new signs after they renamed all the rooms.

My Day
Today I am officially a year 12 student in my final year at Haileybury. The day started off well. I finally got my locker so now I don’t have to use the bio box to keep my books in, we got our timetables and found that I had some pretty good teachers this year but I think the timetable changes again at the start of next year. I went to my first class and had trouble trying to find the room I was in. the room is LT 1.5 to get to the room you have to go through room LT 1.4 to get into the room! After that we had other classes, one of which was theatre studies. It sounds like it’s going to be good this year. After that we had an assembly where we herd a new song for the school. It sounds OK but it is nowhere as good as some of the other school songs. The new school captain ran the assembly. He isn’t as good the old one (technically last years but technically not depending on which way you look at it) and I didn’t vote for him. After assembly we had a short lunch, which I forgot to get something to eat and then had to go back to classes. I had and English lecture about the corse design and the amount of work we will be doing over the year and the final subject for the day was Math. The room I am in for this class is so shit! What they did is; they put a wall up in the middle of one classroom to make it two classrooms. The way the built the wall is what’s shit. The room feels like you are in a long storage room. The room is two tables wide with just enough room to walk down the sides. The funniest thigs are that if you want to turn the lights on or the fan you have to go into the room next door because that’s where the light switch is, they didn’t bother to put a new one for that room and also the best thing it that there is a pin bored on the wall and what they did is; instead of removing the pin bored, they built the room around the pin bord. So there is now one half the pin bored in our room and the other half is in the room next door. I’ll put a pic up soon! Also Matt shouted me a coffee from the new cafe. It’s actualy not that bad.
Lat night was year 12 graduation. It was a good night and sad to say goodbye to this years seniors. the night was good from a technical stand point, nothing went wrong and it was very smooth. this years graduation song was ‘Opportunity’, a good choice. Anyway the night was good and i hope to see some of the graduates arround.
Today i had pre senior speech night but first i had a performace for boy zone thing so I do my performance for boyzone and then i have to start setting up the pre sceniour speech night, i set it up the way i was told to and then the music teacher comes long and says we have a concert band, they won’t fit on stage the way it is set up, berry nor Pant new about that so they were surprised and pissed off when i told them cause there were lots of other changes that they had to deal with. anyway i set that up then some kid says to me “where are the singers going to stand” so i said “awww for F&*% sake” Pant is now laughing about how no one has told us about anything. I also had to mic up the piano. I was told by Mr. Wallice that mr bowler said that “the piano is never to be miced up” i told them that and they gave me this attitude. Anyway all that is fixed and then night went well. there were a couple of stuff ups but not fro my point. only the audio cause some one turned the microphone for the piano off.

Year 12 Review
Today was the annual year 12 review. I was responsible for playing the videos. For those who don’t know what I’m talking about every year to say farewell to the school the year 12’s put on a show that consists of videos, dancing and live performances. The best video this year was the Gattaca parody. They recreated some of the most memorable scenes from the movie, which they all had to watch as part of their English work. There was also the tribute to Taz video, which was clips of all the Taz graffiti around the school. The performance that the staff put on were really funny also except for when they recreated Charley’s Angles, 3 of the male teachers in dresses was awful 
Tonight was one of the most important nights Haileybury has, Speech Night. Every year every one who has done well in the school is presented with awards for the efforts, with some speeches from the principles and members of the Haileybury council. It was disappointing when the chairman of the council gave his speech and he mentions all the improvements that have happened of the year e.g new buildings and the like but he didn’t mention the new sound system! He should have been the one to mention it because he has a really soft speaking voice and it is very hard to hear him even with a microphone but this year you could here him very well because of the new sound system. Also the head of senior schools speech congratulated a lot of people and the efforts they have put in but as usual the tech crew got no mention. My friends and I all put a lot of effort into setting up speech night and every other event in the hall and we didn’t even get a thank you!
Anyway over all it was a good night, boring for me as I had to wait a long time between each lighting change.

I’m Competent!!!
I’m finally competent! Today I handed in the last assessment for my IT class so I now have my VET IT certificate (I think). I can now do the exam and try and get a good score for it too. If I hadn’t have handed in all the work and gotten the marks for them that I needed the exam score in would have gotten for my VCE wouldn’t have counted, but know it will count cause I’m Competent!!! ☺
